ABOUT THE FILM:
The Nightingale is a powerful and beautifully crafted Australian story from the writer and director of The Babadook, Jennifer Kent.
Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival, The Nightingale follows a young Irish convict woman as she chases a British officer through the Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for an act of violence committed against her family. On the way she enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy, who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past.
