This week's book is The Life and Times of Alexander Thomson, written by Gwen Chessell.

Dr. Alexander Thomson came to Australia from Scotland, settling first in Tasmania and then in early Melbourne. He went on to found the City of Geelong and became its first Mayor. Living through a time of momentous change, he played significant part through his energetic endeavours in the development of the State of Victoria.
