ENTRIES FOR THE 2020 COMPETITION CLOSE AUGUST 3RD.
Welcome to the third BirdLife Australia Photography Awards. There are 9 main categories including the Portfolio prize and a Youth category for entrants under the age of 18 years.
The main categories are:
Bird Portrait
Birds in Flight
Bird Behaviour
Backyard Birds
Human Impact
Birds in the Landscape
Special theme: Fairy-wrens, emu-wrens & grasswrens

Prizes
The winner of each category will receive a $1,000 cash prize, with a whopping $5,000 cash going to the portfolio winner.
Entry fees
To help us support bird conservation programs, fund the prize pool and offset the running costs, we are charging modest entry fees. The prices are as follows, and include GST:
Open categories (based on total entry numbers)
ยท First 5 entries are AUD$8.00 each
ยท Next 7 entries (entries 6-12) are charged at AUD$5.00 each
ยท All remaining entries (entries 13-36) are charged at AUD$4.00 each.
Portfolio category
ยท Each entry (6 photos) is charged at AUD$25.00
Youth category* for those under 18 years of age only (maximum of 12 entries)
ยท First 5 entries are AUD$4.00 each
ยท Next 7 entries charges at AUD$2.50 each.
* Note: Entrants eligible for the Youth category are also allowed to enter the Open categories and Portfolio category. For those who do, your entry fees for any Open category or Portfolio category entry will be calculated separately using the above rates. For example, the first 5 entries in the Open categories will still be charged at AUD$8.00 each even if you have submitted a number of entries in the Youth category.
