The British Film Festival returns in November for its ninth and best year yet! Taking over Palace Barracks and Palace James Street from November 3 to December 1, the festival celebrates the finest filmmakers and acting talent British cinema has to offer, with the 2021 line-up featuring some of the most anticipated films of the year. From powerful true stories and literary adaptations to biographies and documentaries, the program features a curation of 31 exceptional films from emerging talent and accomplished industry professionals, which will be screened in seven cities and 21 cinemas across Australia. This year’s British Film Festival includes no less than 20 Australian premieres, including opening-night film The Duke (starring Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren), lauded director Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast (starring Judi Dench and Jamie Dornan) and David Bowie biopic Stardust (starring Johnny Flynn and Jena Malone).
