Canal to Creek Prize - WIN over $15,000 in prizes!

The Transurban Public Art Program - Canal to Creek – includes 21 signature artworks that have activated parklands along our WestConnex M8 motorway in NSW. This legacy project includes contemporary sculpture, artist-designed playgrounds, large-scale murals, a writers walk and an immersive lighting installation.

To celebrate these incredible artworks, the annual Canal to Creek Prize art competition is now open for all high school students in years 7 – 10.

There are fabulous prizes to be won for the first, second and third place in EACH Year group (Years 7 – 10), as well as an overall student winner and one overall school winner. More than $15,000 in prizes are up for grabs!

This year the theme for the Canal to Creek Prize is 'Connections'. We want you to consider connections to earth, culture, history, movement and environment.

Make sure to take fantastic pictures of your artwork for our virtual art gallery, plus if you win, your work will be digitally reproduced and showcased at our state-of-the-art Motorway Control Centre at St Peters, NSW. You can view last year’s entries and winners here.

HOW TO ENTER:

All entries must address the following criteria:
The Canal to Creek Prize is open to all high school students from Years 7 to 10.
Artworks must be original and respond to the Canal to Creek Prize 2022 theme, ‘Connections’.
Artworks can be two-dimensional or three-dimensional (e.g. paintings, sculptures, digital).
Any art material or combination of materials may be used.
Artworks to be submitted in a JPG or PNG file, at least 1500 pixels wide.

Entries will need a title and an accompanying artist statement, limited to 100 words. Your statement should include why you have decided to create this piece of art and what inspired you.
Entrants are encouraged to check out the Canal to Creek virtual portal canaltocreek.com and follow @canaltocreek on Instagram to stay up to date with the latest Prize news and creative inspiration.
