Mountain Writers Festival
The inaugural Mountain Writers Festival will take place in Wurrundjeri Country (Macedon) from 4-6 November 2022. With the theme ‘Nature. Place. Story ’, Mountain Writers Festival is the first Australian literary festival to solely focus on environmental and ecological writing, and the impact literature has on issues such as habitat, water, species and climate change.
The festival welcomes to the Macedon Ranges an amazing line-up of local and interstate writers, thinkers and performers including Australian music icon Peter Garrett, Stella Prize winning poet Evelyn Araluen, landscape architect Costa Georgiadis, climate campaigner and bestselling author Sarah Wilson, and Torres Strait Islander actor, director and writer Aaron Fa'aoso, plus many more.
