How many winners will there be and how will they be chosen?
Monthly draws
There will be nine monthly random draws conducted, one for each Monthly Promotion Period which will determine the monthly prize winners (refer to the “Promotion Period” table above for details of these periods).
All valid entries received during a Monthly Promotion Period will be included in the corresponding monthly draw.
The monthly draws will be held in the month following the relevant Monthly Promotion Period, at 2.00pm (AEST/AEDT, as relevant), which is 4pm (NZST/NZDT, as relevant) on each of 05/05/2023, 08/06/2023, 06/07/2023, 08/08/2023, 08/09/2023, 06/10/2023, 08/11/2023, 08/12/2023 and 08/01/2024 at Choice Hotels Level 26, 2 Southbank Boulevard, South Melbourne VIC, Australia 3006.
In each monthly draw, the first three (3) valid entries randomly drawn from all valid entries received during the relevant Monthly Promotion Period will each win the monthly prize.
The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries in any draw and record them in order, in case a winning entry/entrant is deemed invalid, or a prize is unclaimed (Reserve Entrants).
What can I win?
Each monthly prize is a two-night accommodation vouchers, with an estimated value of up to AU$500 / NZD$548.73 including GST.
For the avoidance of doubt, the voucher is for accommodation only. Any unused portion of the voucher is not redeemable for cash.
Monthly prizes are subject to the following terms and conditions:
Vouchers are valid for up to two adults and two children and may be used for one standard room (double or twin share). Please note that children must be 12 years or younger to qualify.
Vouchers are for two consecutive nights' accommodation, at any single Choice Hotel across Australia or New Zealand.
The use of a voucher is subject to occupancy levels, seasonality, and availability.
Vouchers may not be used during school holidays, public holidays, public holiday weekends and special events.
Vouchers are also valid at any Ascend Hotel Collection, Clarion, Quality, Comfort or Econo Lodge across Australia or New Zealand.
Vouchers may be redeemed for accommodation only and are not redeemable for cash or transferable to another person.
Travel insurance, flights, ground transportation, car hire, taxes, gratuities, all meals, mini-bar items or any other related goods or service are to be paid by the winner and their companions staying at the hotel.
Any booking cancellations or amendments require a minimum of one week’s notice; and
Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
Total prize pool
The total prize pool is up to AU$13,500 / NZD$14,815.71. Values are based on currency conversion rate as at 17/02/2023.
How many times can I enter?
You can only enter once for the entire Promotion Period.
How and when will the winner/s be informed?
All winners will be notified by phone and email (using the phone number and email associated with their Choice Privileges membership) within two business days of determination.
All winners will also have their name and country/state/territory/region of residence published on the Website on 12/05/2023 (for April draw), 15/06/2023 (for May draw), 13/07/2023 (for June draw), 15/08/2023 (for July draw), 15/09/2023 (for August draw), 13/10/2023 (for September draw), 15/11/2023 (for October draw), 15/12/2023 (for November draw) and 15/01/2024 (for December draw).
Unclaimed prize/s
Prize claim date: 5pm (AEST), being 7pm (NZST), on 29/03/2024.
Unclaimed prize determination: 12pm (AEST), being 2pm (NZST,) on 30/03/2024.
If a prize has not been accepted or claimed by the prize claim date above or if, after making all reasonable attempts, the Promoter can't contact a winner (or a winner does not contact the Promoter) by the prize claim date above, the relevant entry/ies will be discarded and the Promoter will award the prize/s to Reserve Entrant/s or carry out unclaimed prize draw at the date, time and place stated above to randomly distribute the prize/s amongst valid entrants who (if possible) have not already won a prize.
Any winner/s in this draw will be informed by phone and in writing within two business days of determination and will also have their name and country/state/territory/region of residence published on the Website on 05/04/2024.
If any prize remains un-won at the end of this promotion, or if a prize winner cannot be found, that information will be published on the Website on 03/05/2024.
Collection and use of your personal information
If you are a winner, you agree to take part in, and co-operate as required by the Promoter with respect to, any and all publicity, photography and other promotional activity that the Promoter reasonably requires, without any compensation. You consent to the Promoter using your name and image in any promotional or advertising activity, and agree to grant the Promoter a perpetual, irrevocable and exclusive license to use any photographs in all media worldwide, including online social networking sites, without compensation to you.
The Promoter and its related entities collect your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this promotion (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners) and for related purposes. Entry into the promotion and/or acceptance of a prize is conditional upon you providing the requested information and by entering this promotion and/or accepting a prize you consent to the use of your personal information as described below.

Entry
2. Your entry must be received during the Promotion Period and will be deemed to be received only when received by the Promoter. The Promoter is not liable for any problems with communications networks. You are responsible for your own costs associated with entering. If you enter using automatically generated entries or multiple phone numbers/email addresses/addresses/aliases, you may be disqualified.
Prizes
3. Prizes and all elements of prizes must be taken as and when offered or will be forfeited, and if forfeited, the Promoter will not be liable. Prizes are subject to any additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant supplier or the Promoter.
4. You are responsible for all other unspecified costs related to a prize including for costs associated with ongoing use of a prize.
5. The Promoter is not responsible for any dispute between you and any person with whom you choose to, or choose not to, share a prize.
General
6. If you or your entry are deemed by the Promoter to breach these Terms and Conditions, your entry (or at the Promoter's discretion, all of your entries) may be discarded. The Promoter may, at any time, require you to produce documentation to establish to the Promoter's satisfaction the validity of your entries and/or verifying your identity (including documentation establishing your identity, age, place of residence and place of employment and right to travel to any overseas location specified). Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not waive those rights.
7. You must not:
tamper with the entry process (including but not limited to manipulating the system via bots, script use, or any other means to circumvent the entry process);
engage in any conduct that may jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion;
act in a disruptive, annoying, threatening, abusive or harassing manner;
do anything that may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or of the agencies or companies associated with this promotion, including without limitation during the participation in any prize;
breach any law; or
behave in a way that is otherwise inappropriate.
8. If you (or your companion, if applicable), in the opinion of the Promoter (and/or a medical professional, as relevant to the circumstances), are intoxicated, under the influence of alcohol or any other drug, behave aggressively or offensively, or behave in a manner which may diminish the good name or reputation of the Promoter or any of its related entities or the agencies or companies associated with this promotion, is contrary to law or is otherwise inappropriate, the Promoter may cancel the prize or restrict you (and your companion) from participating in any elements of a prize, at its discretion.
9. Any failure by the winner or their companion to comply with the conditions imposed by the prize supplier(s) may result in the prize being cancelled or withdrawn at any time (including for the avoidance of doubt, during the fulfilment of the prize itself) without liability for the Promoter or the prize supplier(s).
10. The Promoter is not liable for entries, prize claims or correspondence that are misplaced, misdirected, delayed, lost, incomplete, illegible or incorrectly submitted.
11. If any dispute arises between you and the Promoter concerning the conduct of this promotion or claiming a prize, the Promoter will take reasonable steps to consider your point of view, taking into account any facts or evidence you put forward, and to respond to it fairly within a reasonable time. Despite the aforementioned, the Promoter’s decision in connection with all aspects of this promotion is final.
12. Without limiting any other term of these Terms and Conditions, all prizes (and elements of prizes) must be taken as and when specified, or will be forfeited with no replacement. The prize values are correct as at the date of preparing these Terms and Conditions and include any applicable GST. The Promoter is not responsible for any change in prize value. Without limiting any other clause of these Terms and Conditions, you agree that if a prize (or element of a prize) is unavailable for any reason the Promoter may provide another item of equal or higher value, subject to any necessary approval by the relevant authorities.
13. By entering, you request that your full address not be published.
14. If this promotion or any aspect of it (including any prize) cannot run as planned for any reason beyond the Promoter's control, for example due to software, hardware or communications issues, unauthorised intervention, tampering, fraud or technical failure, government directives, a pandemic, public health orders and the like, the Promoter may end, change, suspend or cancel the promotion or disqualify affected entries/entrants, subject to any necessary approval by the relevant authorities. Where it is practical for it to do so, the Promoter will notify you of such changes.
15. The Promoter is not responsible for any tax implications arising from you winning a prize. You should seek independent financial advice. For Australian residents, if for GST purposes this promotion results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, you must follow the Australian Taxation Office’s stated view that where the parties are at arm’s length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values. If for GST purposes this competition results in any supply being made for non-monetary consideration, participants must follow the New Zealand Inland Revenue stated view that where the parties are at arm's length, goods and services exchanged are of equal GST inclusive market values.
Liability
16. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions restricts, excludes or modifies any consumer rights under any statute including the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”).
17. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed by law), including liability under the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its officers, employees and agents) and the agencies and companies associated with this promotion excludes all liability (including in negligence) for any personal injury (including allergies, skin conditions or other reactions, as relevant), illness or death, or any loss, expense or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion and promotion or any prize, including without limitation (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged, or misdirected due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation of the prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; (f) use of a prize by any person.
18. Without limiting the previous paragraph, the Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not liable for any loss of, damage to or delay in delivery of prize/s
