From its buzzy-worthy international premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, TALK TO ME has fast become the most anticipated genre film of 2023 and its arriving in Australian Cinemas from July 27.
To celebrate its upcoming theatrical release, we’re giving our Melbourne audience a chance to Win Double Passes to see a July 12 Preview Screening courtesy of Maslow Entertainment & Letterboxd.
TALK TO ME is the directorial debut from twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou, aka RackaRacka, follows a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill. Looking for a distraction from the anniversary of her mother’s death, Mia (Sophie Wilde) is determined to get in on the otherworldly action and volunteers for an unruly séance. By unwittingly ignoring the rules, Mia opens the door to disturbing supernatural visions that leave her unable to know who to trust; the dead or the living.
Not unlike auteur filmmakers who spent their weekends with Super 8 in their youth, directors Danny and Michael Phillippou have honed their filmmaking skills through their culturally game changing YouTube channel, RackaRacka, which has over 6.7 million subscribers.
The film stars Sophie Wilde (Eden, The Portable Door, Netflix’s upcoming limited series The xxx It Bucket), Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings), Zoe Terakes (Nine Perfect Strangers, Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart), Otis Dhanji (Aquaman), Chris Alosio (Millie Lies Low) and Alexandra Jensen(Joe vs Carole, Frayed).
