Participants can visit a local attraction, event, business or iconic location, take a photo and enter it online for a chance to win.
SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY
Five finalists will each receive gift vouchers to their choice of local businesses with the winner receiving $1000 in vouchers, second place $500 and the three remaining finalists $250 each.
A judging panel will select the finalists, with a public vote to determine the winner.
Participants can enter multiple times, however the content of each submission must be unique and relate to a different attraction, event, business or iconic location.
Entries close on Sunday July 23.
The finalists will be announced on Monday July 24, with public voting to be open for one week.
How to enter:
Participants much visit a local attraction, event, business or iconic location.
During this time they must take a photo that meets the theme of “why I love Warrnambool in
winter” and submit this photo, along with a written explanation that meets the theme, via the
www.warrnambool.vic.gov.au/wininwinter webpage.
Participants can enter multiple times, however the content of each submission must be unique and
relate to a different attraction, event, business or iconic location.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Promoter is Warrnambool City Council, ABN 44 594 264 321, of 25 Liebig St, Warrnambool,
Victoria 3280.
Information on how to enter forms part of these Conditions of Entry. Submission of an entry into
the promotion is deemed acceptance of these Terms. The Promoter may, in its discretion, refuse to
award any prize to any entrant who fails to comply with these terms.
The Promoter reserves the rights to use all submissions entered in the competition in future
promotions, marketing and advertising without remuneration. All entrants consent to their
submission being forwarded to the attraction, business, event or location on which the submission is
based (if applicable) and for that party to use the content of the submission in any promotional
material for an unlimited period, without remuneration, for the purpose of promoting their
business, its products and/or services.
Entry is only open to Victorian residents. Directors and employees of the Promoter are ineligible to
enter.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify
any entrant for tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry that is not in accordance
with these Conditions of Entry.
The promotion will open 26 June 2023 and close on 23 July 2023.
At the conclusion of the promotion, a Judging Panel will select the five best Entries, hereby known as
Finalists. The Finalists will be chosen on a combination of aesthetic quality of the photo, creativity
and how well the Entry meets the theme of “why I love Warrnambool in winter”.
The Judging Panel will consist of members of the Warrnambool City Council Economic Development
Team.
A public vote will be held to determine the First and Second Prize Winners.
The vote will be held using an online voting tool. Only votes cast using this official tool will be
counted towards determining the winners.
The public vote will open at 11am on Monday 24 July 2023 and close at 11am on Monday 31 July
2023.
The competition prizes are as follows:
First prize: $1000 in gift cards to locally owned and operated businesses. What constitutes a locally
owned and operated business is at the discretion of the Promoter. The Winner will be required to
nominate which businesses they would like to receive their vouchers from. Vouchers must be for a
minimum of $50 and a maximum of $500. Businesses chosen must span at least two of the following
categories, with which businesses correspond to which category at the discretion of the Promoter:
- Accommodation
- Dining
- Retail
- Entertainment
- Attraction
Second Prize: $500 in gift cards to locally owned and operated businesses. What constitutes a locally
owned and operated business is at the discretion of the Promoter. The Winner will be required to
nominate which businesses they would like to receive their vouchers from. Vouchers must be for a
minimum of $50 and a maximum of $250. Businesses chosen must span at least two of the following
categories, with which businesses correspond to which category at the discretion of the Promoter:
- Accommodation
- Dining
- Retail
- Entertainment
- Attraction
Finalist Prizes: The three remaining Finalists who do not win either First Prize or Second Prize will
each win $250 in gift cards to locally owned and operated businesses. What constitutes a locally
owned and operated business is at the discretion of the Promoter. The Winner will be required to
nominate which businesses they would like to receive their vouchers from. Vouchers must be for a
minimum of $50 and a maximum of $100. Businesses chosen must span at least two of the following
categories, with which businesses correspond to which category at the discretion of the Promoter:
- Accommodation
- Dining
- Retail
- Entertainment
- Attraction
Shortly after the Judging Panel convenes to select the five Finalists, each Finalist will be contacted to
inform them that they are now a Finalist. Finalists will be contacted using the details they supplied
on the Entry Form.
At the conclusion of the public vote, each Finalist will be contacted again to inform them as to
whether they have one First, Second or a Finalist Prize.
Each Finalist has 14 days from the time at which the Promoter contacts them to claim their prize.
Any unclaimed prize is the property of the Promoter.
The Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not
limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained, as a
result of taking any of the prizes or participating in the competition, except for any liability which
cannot be excluded by law.
All photos entered into the competition must be original and the entrant’s own and must not violate
any persons’ rights of privacy or copyright.
Submissions must not contain any material or content that is abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar,
obscene, scandalous, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable. Images must not depict any illegal
behaviour, and it is the responsibility of the photographer and anyone appearing in the photo to
conduct themselves in a safe manner.

or Facebook.
If for any reason a winner does not take/redeem a prize (or element of the prize) by the time
stipulated by the Promotion, then the prize (or element of the prize) will be forfeited. Victorian
Consumer Law currently stipulated that vouchers must be valid for at least three years.
The Promoter’s decision in relation to all aspects of the Promotion is final and binding on every
person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.
Winners consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including
photograph, film and/or recording of the same), and competition entry inn any promotional material
for an unlimited period, without remuneration, for the purposes of promoting this Promotion
(including any outcome) and promoting Warrnambool, and/or Warrnambool City Council services.
The Promoter may substitute any prize that is unavailable, (for any reason beyond the reasonable
control of the Promoter), for another item of equal or greater recommended retail value and/or
