Calling all curious minds and lovers of deep conversation! Brisbane Powerhouse’s newest talk series PANOPTICA is bringing together four international authors on August 23–24 to discuss topics that provoke forbidden dialogue and celebrate conversations not appropriate for the dinner table.
This year’s jam-packed line-up will see Booker Prize-nominated author Gabriel Krauze speaking on crime, morality and the enduring the power of ‘art’. Dialogue surrounding the good life and how to live it will be led by TED Talk stalwart Robert Waldinger, while UK author and journalist Hayley Campbell unearths her investigation into the death trade. Finally, writer and literary translator Polly Barton will delve into the world of porn to shamelessly awaken our buried secrets and submerged fantasies.
The Weekend Edition has partnered with our friends at Brisbane Powerhouse to give one lucky winner the ultimate PANOPTICA experience including two festival passes, a signed book from each author and a luxurious one-night stay in a Large Heritage Suite at The Inchcolm by Ovolo. The total prize is valued at $700.
