Instructions, prizes and information on how to enter form part of these Terms and Conditions. By entering, entrants accept these Terms and Conditions.
Entry

The Promotion commences at 12:01am (Sydney, Australia time) on Sunday, 20 August 2023 and ends at 11:59pm (Sydney, Australia time) on Sunday, 10 September 2023.
Entry is only open to Australian residents aged 18 year or over.

Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family and agencies associated with this Promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.

The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
Any costs associated with entering the Promotion, including data costs, are the entrant’s responsibility.

How to Enter:

To enter the Pre-Registration Prize Draw individuals must fill in the pre-registration entry form on the Promotion website: winwithnews.com.au (‘Promotion Website’) between 6 August 2023 and 19 August 2023 (Sydney Australia dates) to go into the draw for the "Pre-registration prizes".

To enter to win a "Major Prize" or "Minor Prize" (the “Promotion” or “Competition”), a person must:
buy a minimum of one (1) copy of a Relevant Newspaper (see clause 15 below) between 20 August 2023 and 10 September 2023 inclusive (the “Promotion Period”) or be a paying digital subscriber to a Relevant Newspaper on at least one (1) day during the Promotion Period;
find the codeword in the newspaper on the day they want to enter the Competition;
scan the Newspaper QR code or visit the Promotion website at winwithnews.com.au and complete the online entry form in accordance with the instructions on that website including by providing requested essential information and the correct daily codeword published in the paper on the day of entering the Competition.
Entries must be received within the promotion period(s) as specified.
The cost of accessing the Promotion Website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.
To be eligible, entrants need to have bought a Relevant Newspaper on the day they enter the Competition and therefore need either to be able to provide the physical copies of the Relevant Newspaper on request by the Promoter for the relevant date of entry, or have been a paying digital or home delivery subscriber to a Relevant Newspaper on the relevant date of entry into the Competition.

If a person validly enters the Competition 3 or more times (which does not include entry into the Pre-registration prize draw) then they will be provided with a number of additional entries being the number of entries they validly submitted. For the sake of clarification, if a person validly enters once or twice then they will have one or two entries (respectively) in the Competition. If they validly enter 10 or 20 times then they will have 20 or 40 entries, respectively, in the Competition. Maximum total entries per person is 44.
Entrants can enter up to 22 times (with a maximum of 44 chances) and each entry must use the codeword that has been published in the Relevant Newspaper on the day of entering.

A maximum of one entry per person is permitted per day.


Relevant Newspapers

A Relevant Newspaper is a hard copy or a digital print edition of any of the following newspapers published during the Promotion Period:

NSW: The Daily Telegraph, The Saturday Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph
VIC: Herald Sun, Saturday Herald Sun, Sunday Herald Sun, Geelong Advertiser
QLD: The Courier-Mail, The Saturday Courier-Mail, The Sunday Mail, Gold Coast Bulletin, Cairns Post, Townsville Bulletin, Toowoomba Chronicle
SA: The Advertiser, Sunday Mail
NT: NT News, Sunday Territorian
TAS: The Mercury, Sunday Tasmanian
The publishers of each of the above Relevant Newspapers and of the digital properties of the same publications are, together, referred to as “News Corp Australia companies”.

Prize

The total prize pool value is up to AU$202,908 (incl. GST).

There are 6 Major prizes, and 40 Minor prizes and 8 Pre-Registration Prizes to be awarded. Each Major Prize winner will win:
one (1) Princess Cruises 10 night Grand Western Mediterranean cruise for the winner and one accompanying guests (total 2 people) in a twin share Cabana Mini-Suite (or similar) onboard Sun Princess departing Rome (Civitavecchia) on 29 March 2024 (U413) (the ‘Prize’).
The Major Prize is made up of:
select onboard main meals and snacks (with the exception of those restaurants and meals which have an additional cover charge);
select onboard activities, evening entertainment and comedy shows (with the exception of those activities and facilities which have an additional cover charge) as well as kids clubs;
taxes, fees and port expenses;
$100 onboard spending money per stateroom;
PrincessPlus fare including the Plus beverage package and Wi-Fi;
$5,000 Princess EZair® credit per stateroom.
There are forty Minor Prizes to be won. Each Minor Prize is made up of:
Princess Cruises Future Cruise Credits valued at AU$2,000 each. These will be valid for bookings made within twelve (12) months since date of issue. Any unused Future Cruise Credit will not be refunded, and is non-transferrable. See https://www.princess.com/plan/fcc-onboard-cruise-credits/ for applicable Terms & Conditions.
The Pre-Registration Prize includes:
There are eight (Cool Pre-registration prizes to be won, each being one (1) Princess Cruises Future Cruise Credit valued at AU$500 (total pre-registration prize value AU$4,000). These will be valid for bookings made within twelve (12) months since the date of issue. Any unused Future Cruise Credit will not be refunded, and is non-transferrable. Princess Plus fareis valid for the first two guests in the stateroom. Princess Plus fare includes the cruise fare packaged with the Plus Beverage Package, Wi-Fi, 1 device Wi-Fi, premium dessert credits, fitness class credits, and unlimited juice bar Itineraries and are not guaranteed and onboard offerings are subject to change. Onboard spending money is per stateroom and is applied to the first 2 passengers in a stateroom. Onboard spending money expires at the conclusion of your cruise, is not transferable, non-refundable, not redeemable for cash and cannot be used at the medical centre or casino. Princess EZair Flight bookings will be subject to Princess EZAir Terms and Conditions available in the Passage Contract (available at: https://www.princess.com/legal/passage_contract/). Any fees charged by the airline for changes, cancellations, excess baggage, and other additional charges must be paid by the passenger. Accommodation prior to embarkation and after disembarking the cruise and transfers between the airport, hotel and cruise terminal are at passenger’s own expense.
The Draw

This is a game of chance. Skill plays no part in determining the winner.
The draw will take place at Engage Interactive by random computer selection at 12:00 pm (Sydney, Australia time) on Friday, September 15, 2023 at 24 Washpool Crescent, Woongarrah NSW 2259, Australia in the presence of a scrutineer. Electronic Draw Approval Number: SA #860. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn. A draw for the prize, if unclaimed, may take place at 12:00 pm (Sydney, Australia time) on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority.
The winner will be notified in writing within two (2) business days of the draw and their name will be announced online at winwithnews.com.au by September 22, 2023. Also the name of the winner(s) will be published in The Weekend Australian newspaper on Saturday September 30, 2023.
Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason the winner does not take/ redeem the prize (or an element of a prize) at or by the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.
In accepting the prize, the winner acknowledges that they may incur ongoing costs associated with the prize that are the responsibility of the winner.
General

The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Prize is subject to availability. If the Prize (or part of the Prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, at its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or that part of the Prize) with a prize to substantially equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
Vaccination requirements apply. Government guidelines may result in a requirement to quarantine during or after your cruise and may restrict your ability to participate in shore tours or disembark the ship at ports we visit during your cruise. See princess.com for more information. Guidelines are subject to change without notice and as such, the Prize may vary from the descriptions provided.
With the exception of any expenses specifically included in the Prize, all:
costs associated with transport to/from the departure port will be the responsibility of the winner and accompanying guest and will not be borne by the Promoter or any News Corp Australia Companies; and
pre and/or post accommodation, shore excursions or other onboard activities, spending money, additional meals, taxes, insurance, passports, visas, vaccinations, transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included.
The winner and their accompanying guest are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary and valid travel documentation including, passports, any requisite visas and vaccinations. The winner and their accompanying guest will be responsible for any expenses incurred in obtaining necessary travel documentation, including any fines or penalties incurred as a result of not having the requisite travel documentation.
Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. If the winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel within the nominated period, or does not take an element of the Prize within the time stipulated then that element of the Prize will be forfeited by the winner.
In accepting the Prize, the winner agrees to participate in and co-operate with all reasonable media editorial requests by the Promoter, including but not limited to, being interviewed and photographed, and the winner grants the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for use.
With the exception of the intellectual property rights set out in these terms and conditions, the winner agrees they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
Standard terms and conditions of travelling with the Promoter will apply, including any applicable age restrictions and vaccination requirements. See Princess Cruises Passage Contract at https://www.princess.com/legal/passage_contract/ which passengers will be bound by.
The winner must provide valid identification to the Promoter. The winner must be over the age of 18 years (subject to applicable age restrictions). Alcohol consumption and gambling onboard are restricted to passengers aged 18 years of age or older. A credit card imprint or cash deposit will be required from the winner and/or accompanying guests at check-in in order to board the cruise ship, for all incidental charges.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the awarding of Independent financial advice should be sought.
As a condition of accepting any Prize, the winner must sign any legal documentation, including but not limited to a legal release and indemnity form as requested by the Promoter.
Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, neither the Promoter nor any of the News Corp Australia Companies (including their respective officers, employees and agents) are responsible for and exclude all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; e) if the cruise is delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or Entrant; or g) use of and/or taking of any prize.
The Idea Shed Pty Ltd (ABN 32 162 123 391), on behalf of the Promoter and News Corp Australia Companies, collects personal information in order to conduct the competition and administer the Prizes and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers and suppliers in the United States and, as required, to regulatory authorities in Australia, New Zealand and the ports of call on the cruise itinerary. Entry is conditional on providing this information. The Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the winner in accordance with its Privacy Policy available here: https://www.princess.com/legal/legal_privacy/. Entrants should direct any request to opt out, access, update or correct information to the Promoter.
If entrants opt in for this to occur then their personal information provided as part of the entry process will be shared with the News Corp Australia companies who may use the information for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages to the entrants. This information will be used in accordance with the News Corp Australia privacy policy which can be found at: https://preferences.news.com.au/privacy. The News Corp Australia Privacy Policy includes important information about their collection, use and disclosure of your personal information (including to provide you with targeted advertising based on your online activities). It also explains how you can access or seek correction of your personal information, how you can complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles and how News Corp Australia companies will deal with a complaint of that nature. Further information about how News Corp Australia companies handle personal information, how entrants can complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles, how News Corp Australia companies will deal with a complaint of that nature, how entrants can access or seek correction of their personal information and News Corp Australia companies’ contact details can be found in their Privacy Policy.
The laws of NSW apply to this promotion to the exclusion of any other law. The winner submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of NSW.
