Subject to these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter is giving customers the chance to win one (1) of four (4) $500 Pets & Vets eGift Cards when they complete the 'BudPet quiz' and an online form (Promotion). The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEST on 23rd August 2023 ends at 11:59pm AEST on 30 September 2023 (Promotion Period). A maximum of one (1) entry into the Promotion will be awarded, regardless of whether multiple completions are completed during the Promotion Period. Eligibility and participation criteria apply. The draw will take place at 10:30am (AEST) on 4th October 2023 and the winner notified via email within two (2) business days. The Promotion commences at 12:01am AEST on 23 August 2023 ends at 11:59pm AEST on 30 September 2023 (Promotion Period). All times are in Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Entry into the Promotion and any offer of Budget Direct Pet insurance is subject to the Insurer deeming that the risk is acceptable in accordance with its underwriting criteria. Eligibility and Participation
In order to enter the Promotion, an entrant must meet all of the following criteria (Eligible Entrant):
be an Australian resident aged 18 or over at time of entry;
during the Promotion Period, complete the entry requirements as follows (Entry Requirements):
take the ‘BudPet’ quiz at
https://www.budpet.com.au/ and enter your email address at the end of the Quiz; and complete the online competition entry form on the Budget Direct website not be an officer or employee of the Promoter, its related entities or their immediate family;
not be an officer or employee of any agents or service providers of the Promoter directly associated with the conduct of the Promotion, or their immediate family.
Eligible Entrants will be awarded a maximum of one (1) entry into the Promotion during the Promotion Period for completing the Entry Requirements. Additional entries will not be awarded for multiple completions of the Entry Requirements in the Promotion Period.
Entries will be deemed accepted at the time of receipt by the Promoter. Entries received will be considered final by the Promoter.
The Promoter reserves the right to request that an Eligible Entrants provide supporting documentary evidence of their identity (e.g. driver’s licence, passport, birth certificate) and if an Eligible Entrant fails to do so they will be ineligible to participate in the Promotion.
Draw and Prizes
The draw will take place at 10:30am (AEST) on 4 October 2023 (Draw Date) at the Promoter’s Head Office at Level 13, Toowong Tower, 9 Sherwood Road, Toowong QLD 4066.
A total of Four (4) Eligible Entrants will be randomly drawn via electronic draw, on the Draw Date, to receive one (1) $500 Pets & Vets Gift Card (Prize) each (each an Eligible Winner). The value of the total Prize pool offered under the Promotion is $2,000 AUD.
The Prize can be used at the following merchant category locations: Veterinary Services (0742), Farm Management Services (0763), Pet Shop, Pet Foods, Supplies Stores (5995) & Pet Insurance (single purchase, not available for instalment/ recurring payments) (6300).
The Eligible Winners will be notified via their nominated email address within two (2) business days of the Draw Date. The Eligible Winner’s names’ will be published on the terms and conditions page of the Promoter’s website at
https://www.budgetdirect.com.au/terms-conditions/petsandvets-competition.html within seven (7) days of the Draw Date and will remain on the Promoter’s website for no less than twenty-eight (28) days from the Draw Date. All reasonable steps will be taken by the Promoter to notify the Eligible Winners.
A Prize will be deemed unclaimed if the Promoter is not reasonably able to contact the Eligible Winner within three (3) months and one (1) day of the Draw Date via the contact details provided at the time of entry to the Promotion.
If a Prize is deemed unclaimed, an unclaimed prize draw will be held in order to distribute any prizes that remain unclaimed, at the Promoter’s Head Office, subject to any written directions made under applicable State or Territory Legislation, at 10:00AM (AEST) 8 January 2024 (Unclaimed Prize Draw).
Any Unclaimed Prize Draw winner(s) will be notified via their nominated email address, within two (2) business days of the Unclaimed Prize Draw or by 10 January 2024. The Unclaimed Prize Draw winner will be an ‘Eligible Winner’ for the purposes of these Terms and Conditions.
Each Eligible Winner’s name will be published on the terms and conditions page of the Promoter’s website at
https://www.budgetdirect.com.au/terms-conditions/petsandvets-competition.html within seven (7) days of the Unclaimed Prize Draw, and will remain on the Promoter’s website for no less than twenty-eight (28) days. All reasonable steps will be taken to notify the winners of the Unclaimed Prize Draw.
The Eligible Entrant will receive instructions to their nominated email address on how to redeem their Prize within 30 calendar days of the winners being drawn (Instructions Email). The Prize will have an expiry which may be stated in the Instructions Email.
Privacy Statement and Marketing Consent

Eligible Entrants can gain access to, update or correct any of their Personal Information held by the Promoter by contacting the Promoter’s Privacy Officer at

Eligible Entrants acknowledge that a further purpose for collection of their Personal Information is to contact the Eligible Entrant in the future with information about the Promoter or Insurer, including special offers, market research or to provide marketing materials via any medium including mail, and any other form of non-real time electronic, emerging, digital or conventional communications channel whether existing now or in the future.
The Promoter will never sell an Eligible Entrant’s Personal Information to other companies, however the Promoter may share an Eligible Entrant’s Personal Information with its Australian and overseas related companies, promotional partners, servants, employees, agents and trusted third parties who may contact the Eligible Entrant for their legitimate commercial purposes. By entering the Promotion, Eligible Entrants acknowledge and agree that the Promoter and any applicable third parties may use their Personal Information in the manner set out in this condition.
The Eligible Entrant agrees that, in the event they are an Eligible Winner, the Promoter may use their contact details for the purpose of facilitating the conduct of the Promotion and delivering the Prize. The Eligible Entrant will participate in all reasonable promotional activities in relation to the Promotion, as requested by the Promoter and its agents. This may include the Eligible Winner’s name, likeness, image and/or voice (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same), in any media worldwide for whatever purpose and without notification, remuneration or compensation, for marketing and or promotional purposes, for an indefinite period.
General
This Promotion is not available in conjunction with any other promotion or offer unless otherwise stated by the Promoter.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any person from receiving the Prize if any of the following occurs:
If it suspects fraudulent activity; or
for a breach of these Terms and Conditions; or
if it decides the person has not acted in good faith; or
for any false or misleading conduct of any kind.
The Prize is not reloadable, transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. If a Prize or receipt of it incurs a tax liability, the relevant recipient of the Prize is liable for payment of such tax.
The issuers of the Prizes are not a part of the Promoter. Prizes are issued by Digital Glue Australia Pty Ltd (Prize Supplier). The Promoter is not responsible for, or liable in respect of, products and services provided by the Prize Supplier.
Terms and Conditions of the individual Prize will be printed on the reward itself and/or be made available on the Prize Supplier’s website. Check the Prize for usage instructions and expiry date. Expired Prize cannot be extended or replaced.
The Promoter or Insurer, (including its officers, employees and agents) will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) including any theft, unauthorised access, third party interference, any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction, or personal injury (including loss of opportunity) suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion, or the receipt, acceptance, or use of the Prize (whether negligent or not), except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (including any applicable consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law).
The Promoter reserves the right at its discretion or subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate, withdraw, or cancel the Promotion at any time without notice. These Terms and Conditions may be varied at any time without notice.
All amounts are in Australian dollars.
If the offer of the Prize is withdrawn or the Promotion terminated by the Promoter, an entrant will only be eligible for the Prize after the withdrawal or termination date if the offer was applied to the policy while the offer was still in market.
The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Gift Card with another incentive of the same value.
If there is a dispute regarding the conduct of the Promotion, Eligible Entrants agree that the decision of the Promoter will be final.
In these Terms and Conditions:
“Australian Consumer Law” means Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth); and “Personal Information” means, for the purpose of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information or opinion is true or not and whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not.
