World Science Festival Brisbane is back for 2024, bringing some of the greatest thinkers, dreamers and storytellers together to take science from laboratories and into the streets, galleries, museums and arts venues across Brisbane!
Running from March 15–24, World Science Festival will host more than 50 free and ticketed events, family-friendly activities, talks, debates and engaging conversations, set to both challenge and illuminate your thoughts and knowledge in equal measure. Embracing the theme of ‘thinkers and dreamers’, the festival’s 2024 program has more than 175 sessions to choose from. Let some of the greatest minds take us all on an exhilarating deep dive to discover the true power of science across medicine, technology and our understanding of the natural world.
To celebrate the return of this weird, wild and wonderful event, we’ve teamed up with our curious comrades at World Science Festival Brisbane to bring one lucky reader the ultimate immersive festival experience. The fun begins on Saturday March 23, when you will check in to Mantra Hotel South Bank (located right in the heart of the festival), which will be your digs for the night. Once you’ve settled in, head to QPAC for Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb: An Afternoon of Science and join an ensemble of local and international scientists celebrating curiosity, innovation and the sheer joy of scientific discovery. The fun doesn’t stop there … the next event on your itinerary is Night of The Nerds, the festival’s very own, very nerdy variety game show. Hosted by comedian Mark Humphries, the evening will see two all-star teams of scientists, tech heads and funny folk battle it out through a series of challenges and quizzes.
