Taronga Rubbish Run is back! Your challenge is to pick up rubbish and debris over the weekend Friday 17 May to Sunday 19 May 2024 to make a huge impact on wildlife conservation.
How? Not only will you remove rubbish and debris, creating a safer environment for local wildlife, but your fundraising efforts will support Taronga's work in wildlife conservation, particularly its two future- proofing Wildlife Hospitals.
Rubbish directly harms our precious wildlife. Taronga’s Wildlife Hospitals are seeing more Australian native animals than ever before, many of which have been admitted because they have ingested litter, thinking it is food, or been injured by discarded garbage.
Sign up before midnight 11 April 2024 and you will go into the draw to win one of two Turtle-y Wild Prize Packs, including all-day entry to Taronga Zoo Sydney / Dubbo for four people and exclusive Taronga merchandise.

How you make a difference
Not only will you remove rubbish and debris, creating a safer environment for local wildlife, but your fundraising efforts will support Taronga's work in wildlife conservation, particularly its two future proofing Wildlife Hospitals.
The Wildlife Hospitals at Taronga Zoo Sydney and Taronga Western Plains Zoo Dubbo care for around 1,400 native animals each year.
The main aim of the Wildlife Hospitals is to rehabilitate as many native animals as possible for release back to the wild. The variety of animals treated is enormous, ranging from stranded seals, pelicans tangled in fishing line and sick platypus that have ingested rubbish thinking it is food. All these animals need professional care and attention during the treatment and rehabilitation process to ensure they can be returned to their natural environment.
The funds you raise during the Taronga Rubbish Run will enable Taronga to continue to carry out conservation work to save and protect endangered Aussie wildlife and enable the construction of Australia's first state-of-the-art Specialist Teaching Veterinary Hospitals that will cement NSW as a global leader in wildlife conservation.
AND, you'll make an immediate impact by cleaning up a park, bush or beach near you, allowing your local wildlife to thrive!
