The Promoters are the Alliance Française d'Adelaide, Alliance Française de Melbourne, Alliance Française de Brisbane, Alliance Française de Perth, Alliance Française de Canberra, Alliance Française de Sydney, and the Alliance Francaise French Film Festival The Promoters organise a competition, which is open to any person meeting the requirements below, to win prizes offered by Sponsors (“Competition”).
The Sponsors are Singapore Airlines, Intrepid Travel, Clarins, Perrier, TV5MONDE and Blue Illusion (together the "Sponsors").
Terms and Conditions
Acceptance of terms
Information on how to enter the Competition and details of prizes form part of these terms and conditions.
Entry to the Competition is free and conditional on acceptance of these terms and conditions. Provision of your details and entering this Competition will constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Your entry will be deemed void where it does not comply with any of these terms and conditions.
Eligibility
Entry is only open to Australian residents over 18 years of age. Employees (and their immediate family: parents, brothers and sisters and children) of the Promoters, sponsors, volunteers, participating retailers and agencies associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter.
Each person taking part in the Alliance Française French Film Festival Competition may only participate once.
The Promoters reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoters to enforce
any of its rights at any stage of the Competition does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
To be eligible to enter the Competition, participants must fully complete the official entry form available on the Alliance Française French Film Festival 2025 website:
www.affrenchfilmfestival.org and the question: In 25 words or less, tell us what is the most “French” thing that could ever happen in a movie and why?
Competition commences on 14/02/2025 and ends on 25/04/2025 ("Promotional Period"). All entries must be received by 11:59pm AEDST on 25/04/2025. 27 winners will be selected from all the valid entries (“Winners”).
Game of skill
A panel selected by the Promoters will judge all valid entries and the Winners will be selected on 26/05/2025 at 3pm [AEDT] at Alliance Française French Film Festival Ltd, Level 8, 257 Clarence Street, Sydney NSW 2000. The panel selected by the Promoters will include members of the Board of the Alliance Française French Film Festival and its General Manager.
The Competition is a game of skill, and the Prize Winners will be selected based on how creative, compelling or original a valid entry is. The determination of Prize Winners will be at the sole discretion of the panel and any decision will be final.
Winners notified
Prize Winners will be notified by email on 28/05/2025 at 3pm [AEDT]. Winners’ names will also be published on the Alliance Française French Film Festival website by midday on 28/05/2025.
Prizes
Prizes are not exchangeable or transferable for cash.
Prizes will be finalised and determined at the Promoters’ sole discretion and are subject to the Sponsors’ own terms and conditions, as included in Appendix 1 (the details of the prizes are detailed in Appendix 1).
Media consent
Entrants consent to the Promoters using the entrant's name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a Winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Competition (including any use by the Sponsors of the Winners’ names, image and/or voice for promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Sponsors).
Privacy
By entering this Competition, you consent to receiving newsletters and other marketing communications from Alliance Française French Film Festival, the Alliances Françaises of Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and the Sponsors. The Promoters collect personal information to assist in administering the Competition and for future marketing, in addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy. Your personal information will be treated by the Promoter in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (which is located at

The Promoters may, for an indefinite period (unless otherwise advised) use the personal information for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes including sending electronic messages or telephoning you. Any request to access, update or correct information should be directed to the Promoters.
The Promoters collects personal information in order to conduct the Competition and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to the Promoter’s partners, agents, contractors, service providers and prize suppliers. By entering the Competition, you consent to the transfer, use and storage of your personal information in accordance with the partners’ respective privacy policies.
Prize may be forfeited
In the event that for any reason whatsoever a Winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoters then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the Winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that prize or element of the prize.

Liability
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoters (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoters) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoters; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these terms and conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a Winner or entrant; or (f) use of a prize.
Right to disqualify or cancel
If for any reason whatsoever this Competition is not able to be held as planned, due to any reason, including unauthorised intervention, fraud, restrictions related to Covid-19 or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoters, which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoters reserve the right (subject to any applicable law) in their sole discretion to (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Promoters may at their absolute discretion cancel the Competition and and start it again under the same conditions subject to state legislation.
