To be eligible to enter, individuals must be or become registered members of the KFC App and remain registered members for the remaining duration of the Promotional Period as required in these Terms and Conditions and undertake the following steps during the Promotional Period:
a) locate the Mystery Box in the KFC App by clicking on it to add it to their purchase cart; and
b) add a minimum of $1 in KFC menu items to their purchase cart and complete the purchase via the KFC App;
Once a customer adds the Mystery Box to their purchase cart, and provided the minimum spend has been achieved, a pop up will be provided indicating that the customer has found the Mystery Box and, upon successful completion of their purchase transaction, are eligible to enter the Promotion for the chance to win a prize.
Within two (2) business days of submission of a valid purchase, the entrant will receive an email confirming their entry and directing them back to the KFC App to reveal if they have won an instant prize (“Instant Win Prize”). Entrants must then login to the KFC App and follow the prompts to reveal their Instant Win Prize. ACT winners of a prize valued over $50 will be published by 11/04/25.
TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. Kentucky Fried Chicken Pty Limited (ABN 79 000 587 780) of 20 Rodborough Road, Frenchs Forest NSW 2086 is the promoter (“Promoter”) of the promotion described as ‘KFC FLG Mystery Box” (“Promotion”) in the terms and conditions set out below (“Terms and Conditions”).
2. Information on how to enter the Promotion and the details of the prize forms part of the Terms and Conditions.
3. Participation in this Promotion is deemed acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
4. Entries into the Promotion opens on 01/04/25 and closes at 11:59pm AEST on 07/04/25(“Promotional Period”).
5. Entry is only open to Australian residents who meet the entry criteria in clause 8 of the Terms and Conditions below. Entrants under 18 years old must have parental/guardian approval to enter and further, the parent/guardian of the entrant must read and consent to these Terms and Conditions. Parents/guardians may be required by the Promoter to enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to the minor entering this promotion.
6. Employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, its associated entities and franchisees and agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
7. During the Promotional Period, the Promoter will include in the KFC mobile phone application (“KFC App”) an addable KFC menu item called a ‘Mystery Box’ on a limited time basis (“Mystery Box”). For clarity, the Mystery Box is included by the Promoter in the KFC App for the purposes of entry into the Promotion only and is not a real food item available for purchase at KFC restaurants in Australia. The Mystery Box will show in the KFC App as $0.

9. A customer may submit multiple entries to the Promotion, subject to the following: (a) only one (1) entry permitted per transaction; (b) each entry must be submitted separately and in accordance with the entry requirements as set out in these Terms and Conditions; and only one (1) entry is permitted per person per day.
10. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants (including an entrant’s identity, age and place of residence) and reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions, tampered with the entry process or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise fair and proper conduct of the promotion. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter's discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. The Promoter's legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
11. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will be deemed invalid.
12. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine the identity of the entrant using reasonable means available to it.
13. Instant Win Prizes available to be won and any additional terms and conditions applicable to these prizes are set out in Schedule A. Any ancillary costs associated with redeeming an Instant Win Prize are not included. Any unused balance of a voucher will not be awarded as cash and winners will not receive notice prior to expiry. Redemption of the voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including those specified on the voucher. Instant Win Prizes are subject to availability and may not be available for sale in all KFC restaurants at all times during the Promotional Period. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any prizes being unavailable at KFC restaurant during the Promotional Period.
14. The Major Draw will take place at Anisimoff Legal, 3 Amy Close, Wyong NSW 2259 on 09/04/25 at 1:00pm AEST, in the presence of an independent scrutineer. The Promoter may draw additional reserve entries and record them in order in case an invalid entry or ineligible entrant is drawn. The winner will be notified by email within two (2) business days of the draw and their details (first initial, surname and postcode) will be published online at

The drawn winner will be deemed a provisional winner subject to verification by the Promoter that all Terms and Conditions have been satisfied. If a drawn winner is contacted and deemed invalid or ineligible, the Promoter will revert to a reserve entry (as indicated above) and the notification process will start again. If however, the drawn winner is unable to be contacted and/or fails to respond before the unclaimed prize draw date, the Promoter will conduct an unclaimed prized draw in accordance.
15. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
16. The first valid entry drawn will win a trip for two (2) people to the Great Barrier Reef valued at up to $10,000 depending on date and point of departure and with travel arrangements selected by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. The prize consists of:
Return economy airfares for two (2) people from the winner's nearest capital city to Hamilton Island, QLD;
Return transfers between airport and accommodation;
Two (2) nights’, minimum 5 Star accommodation on Hamilton Island;
1x chartered boat trip for two (2) to a reef in the Great Barrier Reef shaped like a drumstick, to be advised by the Promoter prior to departure and the opportunity to explore the reef. Chartered boat trip includes full catering;
1x additional snorkelling trip for two (2) to further explore the Great Barrier Reef;
AUD $1,000 spending money per person ($2,000 in total).
As part of accepting the prize, the winner and their companion agree that the Promoter reserves the right to film elements of their prize experience for future promotional and marketing purposes. Filming may include, but is not limited to, videos and stills content of the winner and their companion in the Whitsundays/Great Barrier Reef areas. Content created, may be used for KFC owned social and digital channels and KFC will own all copyright for content collected.
If the winner of the prize is 18 years of age or over, the nominated companion must also be 18 years of age or over. If the winner of the prize is under 18 years of age, a nominated parent/guardian must be their companion and accompany them for the entire duration of the prize. The nominated parent/guardian will be responsible for presenting any required documentation or accepting any further terms and conditions as part of this prize.
The winner must take the prize trip within two (2) months from the date of winner notification.
Additional spending money, additional meals, taxes (excluding airline and airport taxes), insurance, transport to and from departure point, additional transfers, items of a personal nature, in-room charges and all other ancillary costs are not included.
The winner and their companion must depart from and return to the same departure point. Itinerary to be determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. Frequent flyer points will not form part of the prize. The prize is subject to the standard terms and conditions of individual prize and service providers. The winner may be required to present their credit card at time of accommodation check in.
The chartered boat trip and snorkelling trip prize components are subject to the operator and/or ticket terms and conditions, including any applicable age restriction. The Promoter and event organisers hereby expressly reserve the right to eject the/any winner (and/or their companion) for any inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to intoxication, whilst participating in any element of the prize.
17. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, government lockdown, pandemic, or any other kind of disaster or unforeseeable event beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion or suspend, substitute or modify a prize, subject to any written directions from a relevant regulatory authority.
18. If the winner of the Major Draw Prize is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to the winner's nominated parent or guardian on the winner’s behalf.
19. Subject to the unclaimed prize draw clause, if for any reason a winner does not take / redeem a prize (or an element of the prize) at the time stipulated by the Promoter, then the prize (or that element of the prize) will be forfeited.
20. If a prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize (or part of the prize) to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
21. Total prize pool value is up to AUD$3,723,255.80.
22. Prizes, or any unused portion of a prize, are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash, unless otherwise specified.
23. A draw for the Major Draw prize, if unclaimed, and any Instant Win Prizes that are won but not able to be claimed (such as where the offer could not be added to a customer’s account), may take place on 09/05/25 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any directions from a regulatory authority. The winner/s, if any, will be notified immediately in writing and by phone on the same date as the draw and their first initial, surname and postcode will be published online at

24. The drawn winner in an unclaimed prize draw will be deemed a provisional winner subject to verification by the Promoter that all Terms and Conditions have been satisfied. The drawn winner in an unclaimed prize draw must respond to the Promoter's winner notification by email and phone within the time specified upon notification by the Promoter in order to claim their prize, should they be deemed eligible. If a drawn winner in the unclaimed prize draw is contacted and deemed invalid or ineligible or fails to respond within the time specified upon notification, the Promoter will revert to a reserve entry drawn in the unclaimed prize draw and the notification process will start again until the Promoter is able to determine a winner.
25. Entrants consent to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (“Content”) in the event they are a winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this promotion (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter and/or the Promoter’s international affiliates. For the avoidance of doubt, the winner acknowledges that all Content produced in accordance with these terms will be owned by the Promoter and the winner grants the Promoter an irrevocable license to reproduce the winner’s name, likeness, image and/or voice in Content in perpetuity, worldwide, without any further remuneration to the winner.
26. If this promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including but not limited to technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, or any Force Majeure event that occurs in any destination country, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) to disqualify any entrant; or (b) subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the promotion, as appropriate.
27. Any cost associated with accessing the KFC App or promotional website is the entrant’s responsibility and is dependent on the Internet service provider used.
28. The use of any automated entry software or any other mechanical or electronic means that allows an entrant to automatically enter repeatedly is prohibited and will render all entries submitted by that entrant invalid.
29. Quality control errors will not invalidate an otherwise valid prize claim. Unless otherwise due to fraud or ineligibility under these Terms and Conditions, all prize claims in excess of the advertised prize pool will be honoured.
30. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act, as well as any other implied warranties under the ASIC Act or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia (“Non-Excludable Guarantees”). Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the promotion.
31. Except for any liability that cannot by law be excluded, including the Non-Excludable Guarantees, the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) is not responsible for and excludes all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury; or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity); whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their receipt by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms and Conditions; (e) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or (f) if any prize component is can delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; or (g) use of the prize.
32. As a condition of accepting the prize, the winner (and the winner’s companion) must sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter and/or prize suppliers in their absolute discretion, including but not limited to a document releasing and indemnifying the Promoter in certain circumstances.
33. The Promoter collects personal information ("PI") in order to conduct the Promotion and may, for this purpose, disclose such PI to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, service providers, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities. Entry is conditional on providing this PI. The Promoter will also use and handle PI as set out in its privacy policy, which can be viewed at

In addition to any use that may be outlined in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, the Promoter may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised, use the PI for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes, including sending electronic messages or telephoning the entrant. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their PI, how entrants may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with.
