1. Promoter
1.1. The Promoter is State of Queensland, through the Department of Transport and Main Roads, ABN 39 407
690 291, 61 Mary Street, Brisbane Q 4000.
2. Terms
2.1. Before entering the Promotion, read these Terms. By entering the Promotion, entrants are deemed to
have accepted these Terms and warrant that they are eligible to participate.
2.2. Information on how to enter and details of prizes form part of these Terms.
2.3. If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and any other information or documentation (in
whatever form) that refers to this Promotion, these Terms will prevail.
2.4. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those
rights.
3. Definitions
Awards means each of the following Queensland Bus Driver of the Year awards:
(a) Southeast Queensland Bus Driver of the Year;
(b) Regional Queensland Bus Driver of the Year; and
(c) Queensland School Bus Driver of the Year.
Eligible Bus Services means:
(a) public passenger bus services in Queensland displaying a route or service number;
(b) bus services that only service schools; and
(c) long distance coach services throughout regional, rural and remote Queensland.
Charter services and private hire services are not Eligible Bus Services for the purposes of this Promotion.
Eligible Driver means a bus driver of an Eligible Bus Service.
Eligible Entries are Nominations which comply with these Terms and are not found to be invalid or
ineligible for any reason.
Immediate Family includes spouses and de facto partners, children, parents (including step-parents),
grandparents, legal guardians, aunts and uncles, siblings, nieces and nephews.
Nomination means a nomination submitted during the Promotion Period in accordance with these Terms.
Nomination Form means the nomination form for the Promotion published on the Website.
Promotion means the Queensland Bus Driver of the Year Awards Nomination Promotion.
Promotion Period means 10 am on 13 October 2025 until 11.59 pm on 2 November 2025 (Queensland time) Website means
www.translink.com.au.
4. Eligibility to enter the Promotion and those ineligible to enter
4.1. Entry is open to persons who have travelled on public transport in Queensland except:
4.1.1 employees of TMR and their Immediate Families; and
4.1.2 drivers, employees and employers of operators of Eligible Bus Services and
their Immediate Families.
4.2. To avoid any doubt, employees of all Government departments or entities other than TMR and their
immediate families are eligible to enter.
4.3. Entrants who are under 18 years of age must first obtain consent from the parent or legal guardian to
participate in the Promotion and be able to evidence that consent if requested by the Promoter.
4.4. All decisions made by the Promoter, its employees or agents are final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
5. Entry to the Promotion
5.1. To enter the Promotion, complete and submit the Nomination Form for the relevant Award.
5.2. Nominations must be received before the end of the Promotion Period. The time of receipt of the
Nomination will, in each case, be the time that the Nomination Form is recorded on the servers of the
Promoter, not at the time of transmission by the entrant.
5.3. Neither the Promoter nor any other entity associated with this Promotion will be responsible for any late,
lost, misdirected, corrupted, incomplete or incorrectly submitted Nomination, including but not limited to
Nominations not received due to technical problems or human error.
5.4. Each Eligible Entry submitted during the Promotion Period will be entered into the prize draw.
5.5. Multiple Nominations for different Eligible Drivers are allowed, provided a separate Nomination Form is
completed for each Eligible Driver. Each nomination requires a separate Nomination Form.
5.6. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of Nominations and determine the
eligibility of entrants (including an entrant’s identity and age) and to disqualify a Nomination or refuse to
award a prize where false or misleading details have been given by an entrant, where an entrant has
behaved in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, or has not complied with these Terms.
5.7. The Promotor may amend, suspend or cancel any aspect of the Promotion (including any prize) or may
disallow any Nominations at any time in its sole discretion without giving reasons.
5.8. All Nominations become the property of the Promoter.
6. Nominations may be deemed invalid
6.1. If the Promoter reasonably considers that there are duplicate Nominations for an Award for the same
Eligible Driver from the same entrant, those Nominations will be deemed invalid.
6.2. A Nomination must not include anything that contravenes any law, infringes the rights of any person or is
potentially insulting, inflammatory, defamatory, obscene, offensive, discriminatory, indecent or otherwise
objectionable or inappropriate. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, deem a Nomination containing
such material to be invalid.
6.3. Any Nomination that is made on behalf of an entrant by a third party will be invalid, unless the entrant
requires the assistance of a third party to enter due to a disability or is unable to complete.
6.4. The Promoter reserves the right to request any winner to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at
the nominated prize delivery address. If a winner cannot provide suitable evidence of identity, residency
and (if under 18) consent to enter the Promotion, the Promoter may disqualify the winner and forfeit theprize; no substitute will be offered.
6.5. Nominations not completed in accordance with these Terms or which are incomplete or indecipherable will
be invalid and will not be included in the draw.
6.6. The Promoter reserves the right to disallow Nominations in its absolute discretion and without giving
reasons.
7. Drawing prizes
7.1. The draw will take place at 61 Mary Street, Brisbane, Queensland 4000 on Wednesday 5 November 2025
at midday (Queensland time).
7.2. Ten Eligible Entries will be selected at random with each winning a $150.00 e-gift card.
7.3. The Promoter may verify, or require the entrant to verify, that the Nomination is the entrant’s original work.
If a Nomination cannot be verified to the Promoter’s reasonable satisfaction, the Nomination will be
deemed invalid and the prize forfeited.
7.4. If a Nomination is invalid or an entrant ineligible to win the Promotion, the Promoter may continue to draw
Nominations until an Eligible Entry is drawn.
7.5. Winners will be notified by telephone or email and their names may be published on Translink’s website
and may be published by Translink or TMR on its social media and e Newsletters.
7.6. The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the Promotion is final and the Promoter will not enter
into any correspondence regarding the result.
7.7. Once awarded, the Promoter is not liable for any part of the prize that has been lost, stolen, forged,
damaged or tampered with in any way.
8. Prizes
8.1. When winners are notified, Translink Marketing may request the winner's postal address or confirmation of
the email address.
8.2. Prizes will be delivered to winners by post or via email as an e-gift card to the address provided by the
winner within 20 business days of the later of the original draw or Translink Marketing receiving the
address details.
8.3. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash.
8.4. If a winner does not claim or accept their prize or provide confirmation of their physical or email address (if
requested) within 3 months of the original draw:
(a) the winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize, in which case the winner will not receive the
prize or any compensation; and
(b) subject to any law or regulatory direction, a draw for the unclaimed prize may take place on
Wednesday 4 February 2026 at the same time and place as the original draw.
8.5. Subject to any law or regulatory direction, if a prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves
the right to substitute the prize with a prize to the equal value or specification.
8.6. Entrants agree that as a condition of receiving a prize, they may be required to execute a waiver and
indemnity in the form provided by the Promoter.
9. Promotional Activities
9.1. Subject to clause 9.2, each entrant consents to their de-identified comments being used in any media for
an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of acknowledging the appreciation reflected
towards Eligible Drivers, this Promotion and for any of the uses stated in these Terms.
9.2. Each winner consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including
photograph, film and/or recording of the same) and comments from the Promotion entry in any media for
an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this Promotion and for any of the
uses stated in these Terms.
9.3. The ensuing copyright will rest with the Promotor, without any claim to compensation from the entrants.

10. No Liability
10.1. As a condition of participating in the Promotion, entrants indemnify the Promoter and all other persons and
organisations associated in any way with the Promotion against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs and
expenses (including legal fees on a solicitor and client basis) which an entrant may incur arising out of
their participation in the Promotion.
10.2. If for any reason the Promotion is interfered with in any way or is not capable of operating as intended,
including (without limitation) as a result of any infection to the relevant IT system (or any part of it) by a
computer virus, bugs, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes which
corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Promotion, the
Promoter may, in its sole discretion:
(a) disqualify any entrant who is involved in any of these actions;
(b) take any action that may be legally available; or
(c) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion.
10.3. Neither the Promoter nor any of its officers, employees and agents, will be responsible or liable for any
loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered by any person (including but not limited to direct, indirect,
special or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the
Promotion or any prize including without limitation arising as a result of:
(a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or any of the equipment or
programming associated with, or utilised in, this Promotion, or for any technical error, or combination
thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this Promotion, including any omission,
interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone,
mobile or satellite failure, theft, or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, Nominations;
(b) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
(c) any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference;
(d) any entry or prize claim that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected due to any reason beyond
the reasonable control of the Promoter;
(e) any variation in prize value to that stated in these Terms;
(f) any tax liability incurred by a winner or entrant; or
(g) the broadcast of any program relating to the Promotion or the publication of any material, including
statements made by any person, except for liability which cannot be excluded at law.
11. Privacy
11.1. The Promoter collects and discloses personal information of entrants and winners for the purposes of the
Promotion, awarding of prizes and awards to award winners of the Awards.
11.2. The Promoter may share entrant information, including name and contact details, with other persons or
entities who assist in undertaking the Promotion and Awards.
11.3. The Promoter will also use and handle personal information as set out in its Privacy Policy, which can be
viewed at

11.4. The Privacy Policy also contains information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct
their personal information, how entrants may complain about a breach of the Information Privacy
Principles or any other applicable law and how any complaint will be dealt with.
