Blue Communications: Live at RRR

Naarm/Melbourne DIY pop trio Blue Communications swing by the Triple R Performance on Friday 9 October, hosted by Hal Langley of Local and/or General.

Formed in 2024 amongst the reeds of the Merri Creek, Blue Communications channel the damaged pop minimalism of The Velvet Underground and Young Marble Giants into their own sun-soaked, jangly Australian sound.

Their debut self-titled record (and previous Triple R Album of the Week!) quickly cemented the band as underground favourites on the scene, with their live show playfully incorporating the melodica, guiro frog, and shruti box, alongside stand up drums, bass, and guitar.

First Nations people can email firstnations@rrr.org.au to RSVP to attend.

ACCESS: If you extra access needs, please don't hesitate to contact the station at reception@rrr.org.au before the event.

For those unable to attend, you can still tune in to the performance live via FM, digital, online or with the Triple R app.

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body.
