An articial friend with a big heart
FROM Academy Award-winning lmmaker Taika Waititi
comes Klara and the Sun, a warm comedy drama about
friendship, family and the power of hope.
Based on the bestselling novel by Nobel Prize winner Ka-
zuo Ishiguro, the lm stars Jenna Ortega as Klara, an arti-
cial friend searching for the perfect home.
When Klara meets Josie (Mia Tharia), the pair immedi-
ately recognise a kindred spirit in each other. Josie and her
mother (Amy Adams) are struggling with grief and a difficult
relationship, but Klara’s innocent wonder and unwavering
loyalty begin to heal the family and bring light into their com-
plicated world.
The cast also includes Aran Murphy, Steve Buscemi and
Natasha Lyonne.
Klara and the Sun is in cinemas October 22.
